"...outsourcing is a growing trend in business, using outside specialist expertise as needed for tasks that are critical to organizational success..."
Not all recruitment situations are well served by the same approach. At Hayhurst Consulting, our goal is always to provide the best solution to a given client need; one that addresses the specific issues at hand in a timely and cost effective manner. As a result, we have developed an integrated suite of services that can be adapted to most circumstances.
This traditional, project based approach is generally well understood by clients and is graphically depicted in the Recruiting Process section of our website. It provides a comprehensive solution to a majority of recruitment situations and can be undertaken on a confidential basis if required. As previously stated, it focuses on direct candidate sourcing which targets candidates who may not be actively looking and includes a guaranteed outcome.
Fees for full searches are charged at 20% of candidate compensation, established in advance and billed monthly as work progresses. It is our practice, where possible, to discount fees on large or multiple assignments. Internet advertising is typically included in the fee and supplementary expenses, though rare, are approved in advance and passed along at cost.
Sometimes expected availability of candidates is good and direct sourcing is not deemed necessary. Or, for a variety of reasons, the recruitment needs to be done confidentially. Or, due to other short term commitments, management doesn’t have the time at present to properly conduct the search. In these instances, the search coordination approach may be appropriate.
Search coordination is a streamlined and expedited solution to relatively straightforward recruitment needs. As the name suggests, Hayhurst Consulting manages all aspects of the process including conducting a database search, placing internet postings, phone screening for the long list, conducting phone interviews for the short list, attending client short list interviews and reference checking finalists. Fees for search coordination are charged at 10% of candidate compensation plus a nominal supplement for internet advertising.
The recruiting partnership program is suitable for large organizations that typically use third-party recruiters more than six times per year for professional and managerial searches or for smaller organizations undergoing restructuring or other organizational change. The program is essentially a 12 month contract funded through the payment of a monthly retainer fee based on anticipated volume. By increasing consultant utilization, savings of up to 40% over traditional project based approaches are attainable. For those who are interested, we have a brief half hour presentation outlining the benefits in detail.
